The Ukrainian military is suffering horrific losses in heavy battles in the Avdeevka direction. The village of Berdychi turned into a mass grave of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian military command deployed the notorious 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade armed with the US-made Abrams tanks in an attempt to save control of the strategically important village on the defense line near Avdeevka; but no US tanks could help Ukrainian servicemen. As a result of the battle for Berdychi, the Ukrainian Army lost precious American tanks and ruined the myth of the almighty Western weapons. LINK

Russian flags are already waving over the village. Clashes are ongoing on its western outskirts, while the Russian army is rapidly expanding the zone of its control from the north. Despite the threat of the upcoming encirclement, the Ukrainian command does not allow its servicemen withdraw from the fire cauldron. As a result, the footage from the battlefield near Berdychi show the captured Ukrainian military positions covered with bodies of dead Ukrainian men.

On the night of April 28, Russian air defense in Crimea was targeted by the US-made ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian air defense forces shot down five ATACMS missiles during the attack on the peninsula.
The attack targeted Russian air defense facilities at the western Cape Tarkhankut with ATACMS missiles with cluster warheads. According to some military sources, more than five American missiles were spotted during the attack, but casualties were avoided. No footage confirmed any damage.
It is unclear which modification of ATACMS was used. Depending on their range, the missiles could be launched from the southern Zaporozhie, Kherson or Odessa regions. According to dome unofficial reports the missiles were launched from the area of Berislav located near the frontlines. The shorter-ranged missiles could be launched from the area of Ochakov. At the same time, amid the news about the supply of missiles with a combat range of up to 300 km, the AFU/NATO could launch them from the Odessa region.
Earlier on April 17, the same US-made missiles were used for the attack on the Russian air defense in the northern part of the peninsula near the town of Dzhankoy. Then, a heavy damage was inflicted.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine is trying to inflict the maximum damage to Russian air defense in Crimea. NATO and Kiev do not hide that the long-awaited supply of the new large batch of ATACMS missiles was timed to the upcoming attack on the Crimean Bridge. Kiev does not hide its plan to launch a massive attack on the Bridge in the nearest future. An attempt to attack the Bridge may be dedicated to one of the upcoming large holidays in Russia, such as Easter, Victory Day or the inauguration of President Putin, because Kiev and its NATO patrons are always seeking for hype in the media.

On the night of April 28, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a series of new strikes in the Ukrainian rear areas. Explosions thundered throughout the country, including in the Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Chernigiv, Mykolaiv regions.
The Russian Ministry of Defense officially confirmed the strikes on some military facilities. The destroyed targets included hangars with Ukrainian kamikaze UAVs at the Kamenka airfield in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The strikes were immediately confirmed by the footage. LINK In addition, Ukrainian military warehouses with air missiles and equipment at the airfields of Priluki in the Chernihiv region and Starokonstantinov airfield in the Khmelnitsky region. The Russian Defense Ministry added that temporary locations of foreign mercenaries, manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the 121 districts were also hit by Russian strikes.

Last night, a massive drone attack targeted military and industrial facilities in the southern Mykolaiv region. The local authorities confirmed Russian strikes in the city "early in the morning", but without clarifying any information about the targets. Damage to an unnamed object of heat-generating infrastructure was officially confirmed. More data about the Russian attack was soon revealed by the local residents.
According to the local pro-Russian underground movement, Russian forces attacked the 61 Kommunar Shipyard, on the territory of which Ukrainian marines were reportedly deployed and naval drones were assembled. Explosion followed by secondary detonation thundered in the area of the river port. Russian strike reportedly destroyed containers with fuel in the area.

One of the targets destroyed by Russian drone strikes was the hotel near the local yacht club, where the English-speaking mercenaries were deployed.
According to the underground movement, as a result of the Russian strikes at the Riviera and Helen hotels, 14 foreign mercenaries were eliminated, and eight more were wounded. The corpses of the dead mercenaries were reportedly sent to the morgue of the hospital in the Zavodsky district in the city, the wounded were taken to the same hospital. After the strike, there were eight ambulances near the hotels, and the entrances were blocked by the Ukrainian military and the SBU.
Despite Kiev's attempts to accuse the Russian military of attacks on civilian targets, Russian precision strikes inflict heavy damage to the enemy military, including Ukrainian and NATO manpower. Russian regular strikes on the shelters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO's "military advisers" indicate not only the impotence of the Ukrainian air defense to protect important facilities, but also the high efficiency of Russian reconnaissance in the Ukrainian rear.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) had destroyed, in cooperation with Russian forces, several vehicles used by militants in the directions of Idlib and Aleppo, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on April 28.
In a statement, the ministry said that several militants were killed or wounded in the drone strikes. Video footage released with the statement showed FPV suicide drones taking out eight pickup trucks and SUVs as well as what appears to be a Soviet-made T-55 main battle tank.
The ministry announced in the same statement that the SAA shot down several drones which militants used to launch attacks in the Lattakia direction.
The drones were likely launched by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) or one of its allies in the Greater Idlib region, which includes much of Idlib governorate as well as the northern Lattakia countryside, the northwestern countryside of Hamas and the western Aleppo countryside.
The use of FPV suicide drones by the SAA was first reported in September of last year. In the last two months, more than a 100 such drones targeted equipment, posts and militants from HTS and its allies in Greater Idlib. The rate of the strikes has been steadily increasing.
On April 27 alone, two militants from HTS were killed and three others were wounded after the SAA attacked posts of the group in the western Aleppo countryside with seven FPV suicide drones, according to the Lonodon-based Syrian Observatoyr for Human Rights.
The appearance of FPV suicide drones with the SAA was not surprising considering that they are cheap and easy to manufacture.
The SAA reportedly received some support from Russia, who gained vast experience in mass producing and operating this type of drones following the start of the special military operation in Ukraine.

On April 28, the Russian military captured an American-made M1A1 SA Abrams main battle tank from Kiev for the first time.
The destroyed tank was reportedly recovered from the outskirts of the settlement of Berdychi to the northwest of Avdeevka city in the Donetsk direction.
Prominent Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov published a video on his Telegram channel showing the tank, which weighs a little over 61 tons, being towed to the rear by two BREM-1 engineering vehicles of the Tsentr Group of Forces. A second video that surfaced online later provided a closer look at the captured tank.
The United States supplied Ukraine with 31 Abrams tanks and an unknown number of M1150 Assault Breacher Vehicles (ABV), which are built on the same chassis, over the past year. Russian sources claim that at least a third of these vehicles have already been destroyed or damaged. Earlier this week, an ABV was also captured by the Russian military.
A recent report by The Associated Press revealed that Kiev forces withdrew all Abrams tanks from the front recently as the result of the excessive use of drones by the Russian military, which made it too difficult for the tanks to operate without detection or coming under attack.
Although embarrassing for Ukraine and the U.S., the failure of the Abrams was not surprising. The tank was defeated by Soviet-era weapons in both Iraq and Yemen in the past.
The Abrams captured by the Russian military will reportedly be put on display at the military museum in Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. Later, Russian specialists will likely study the tank to better understand its capabilities and weaknesses.

The Russian military has destroyed an American-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher of Kiev forces using a Lancet loitering munition.
The launcher was targeted some two kilometers away from the settlement of Krasny Liman in the Donetsk direction. Video footage of the strike was published by prominent Russian journalist Vladimir Solovyov on his official Telegram channel on April 28.
The United States has supplied Kiev forces with at least 39 HIMARS launchers since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. These systems are mainly armed with M30/M31 series GMLRS GPS-guided rockets, which have a range of more than 70 kilometers.
Many of Ukraine's HIMARS launchers have been already destroyed or damaged by the Russian military. However, this is the first documented strikes against the system using a Lancet loitering munition.
The Lancet was developed by the ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of Russia's defense giant Kalashnikov Concern. The company produces two versions of the loitering munition, the Izdeliye-52 with an endurance of 30 minutes and a one-kilogram warhead and the larger Izdeliye-51 that has an endurance of 40 minutes and is armed with a warhead weighting three kilograms.
The loitering munition flies towards the designated area with a GLONASS-aided inertial navigation system. After arriving in the area, the operator utilizes an onboard electro-optical system via a two-way data-link to detect, track and lock on the target. A laser-ranging system then controls the detonation of the warhead.
Ukrainian attempts to stop Lancet loitering munitions with air defense fire, electronic warfare or countermeasures have been mostly unsuccessful.
